Steve Martin is a funny guy. He once pointed out how the French do not speak English because they lack common courtesy. Well, it was funny the way he said it, trust me. Lucky for Moby those blokes in the UK do not display such a lack and produce their media in English and all, and so Moby was able to recently discover and absolutely enjoy an instant classic from BBC Radio called ‘Old Harry’s Game’. Fans of the Original Star Trek have something to be happy about, the wait is finally over! The fan-based Classic Trek Webseries Starship Farragut has released their third full episode, titled ‘The Price Of Anything‘, for free streaming online and for download via an official DVD release. The episode has been a long time coming, and having seen it Moby can say it is a worthy effort and a definite ‘Must-See’ for Trek fans. Continue reading »
Just a quick note about a great sale from a great company.
Right now you can get single issues of most titles directly from Penny Farthing Press starting at $0.69, and graphic novels at under $4 or $5, just an incredible deal. Moby has become a fan of PFPress by way of collecting original art from one of their series, Anne Steelyard.
Being something of a original comic art collector I was of course interested when I saw that there was a preview issue of Anne Steelyard with tryout page samples out there. However, the only copy I could find at the usual online stores was on Ebay for $15! Well, a quick search later and I found that PFPress had them in their own company store, and they were marked down, from a buck a piece to $0.25! What a deal, eh? But then as I kept browsing, I saw they had plenty more great books, and it was all on sale. Continue reading »
Some great news for fans of Star Trek, the latest episode of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II has been released online. For those who have not already found this treasure of the web, Phase II (or New Voyages) is an independently made award-winning web-series continuing the original five year mission of the USS Enterprise.
All the original characters remain but are being portrayed by different actors. For example Captain Kirk is played by James Cawley, the founder and star of the series. He obtained copies of the original 1960’s era set’s blueprints on a visit to Hollywood years before and made his dreams a reality by building a standing replica of the original bridge inside a Ticonderoga, NY warehouse where the episodes are filmed.
