Click for Larger VersionOne of the titles at Silverwolf which Tim Vigil worked on was Nightmaster, a book about an American ninja in California.

The issue has an amazing cover by Vigil, with only 21 B&W interior pages.

The first half of the book deals with Nightmaster hunting down the location of the ‘Red Dragons’ gang and dealing with a street thug who has just killed a shop owner. The second half of the book deals with Nightmaster’s origin and his confronting the ‘Red Dragons’. The opening half of the book is a real treat, but in all honesty the second half of the issue the art is noticeably weaker. introsplash2

I came across this one on Kickstarter and liked the look of the character (obviously inspired by Spider-Man).

I decided to look into the character and found ‘The Luminous Firefly #1’ was only 12 pages long, but was available for free on the company’s website, RapidFireComics.com. I like that they posted the issue for everyone to see, and I think it will help the Kickstarter. Here’s a page from that book:

revised issue 0 covercolorA great threat encroaches on the galaxy.

A threat that even the mighty Continuum cannot stop. Once cast aside, The Frontiersmen have assembled anew to face that threat, but the lines between friends and foes have blurred. Priorities have changed and loyalties have shifted. Yet, if the galaxy is to survive, there exists but one single hope. The Return of the Frontiersmen.

I was one of those who supported DPM’s Indiegogo campaign and have been looking forward to seeing what the studio can bring. That patience paid off big time recently when got a first look at Dragon Phoenix Media’s upcoming Frontiersman/Pathways Issue Zero (#0). The issue will be offered free of charge at their site, Dragonphoenixmedia.com, once it is released.

And wow. Moby was thinking this would be a simple superhero origin story, diluted by having to deal with an ensemble cast. But this zero issue was not that at all.

Lady

Click on image for a much larger version.

I saw this one again while reorganizing a bit, and thought to share it again. Such a great piece, Lady Mastermind from Marvel’s X-Men series of titles. I have not seen much from Alan lately, but I have not been looking either.

I found his work through eBay after he started selling some awesomely detailed Batman ‘inner pages’. You can click [HERE] to download the Batman mini-comic and check it out for yourself. It is in .cbr format, but you can change the .cbr to .rar and unpack it if you wish to see the pages that way.

Great work, so glad I won this piece.
