The Flagship of the Fan Made Trek, Phase II, has a Kickstarter underway!

The series has been noted for quality and having several Trek original actors and writers returning to add to the continuing voyage of the Starship Enterprise. They are only asking for a few thousand dollars to complete the post-production on one episode with the possibility that excess funding could go to completing even more Trek.

anneclr300Every now and then it’s nice to change the artwork up on the walls, and while picking out the winners to hang around for the next couple of months or so, I came across some pages from Penny Farthing Press’s Anne Steelyard.

And while looking around for more on Anne, I came across the blog for artist Bill Galvan. He has posted a couple of tryout pages he did for the book. I thought that was very nice of him, it gives us fans the chance to see the differences and note ‘what might have been’.

Moby’s Digital Pick for Free Comic Book Day 2014 is…

TJ2Last year’s pick of Bombshell #1 (Hero Universe Comics) went on to have a successful Kickstarter campaign and generally was a great pick. Like Bombshell, Tomorrow Jones has three issues in the series, and you can get the first one for free right here.

Like before, I chose this book because of it being an independent comic and because it’s a bit of a different take on superheroes. I also wanted to pick something that would be enjoyable for all types of readers as well.

The comic is not new, having had a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012. But still, it’s online and free. And it’s a lot of fun too. Series creator Brian Daniel (@BrianWithCheese) gives us a fun coming of age story involving family and school, all centered on a strong female character. Good stuff. Continue reading »
