One of the fun things to do as a collector is to follow all the leads out there, even the small or silly ones from time to time. So, on a whim, I tried the link on Keith Paquette’s Silverwolfcomics.com that read SilverWolf Comics fan t-shirts! Turns out the link takes you to the online store for SW products at CafePress, and they are still available. Um…wow?
So, of course I ordered a t-shirt; I mean, what choice did I have? I figured that convention season is coming up and having a brand new Silverwolf t-shirt would make sure I am unrecognized and totally ignored…so I ordered one.
Truthfully, I was just blown away that it is still possible to get even a semi-authorized original, brand-new t-shirt some 21 years afters the company went under. It’s times like these I wonder why the entire Silverwolf and Greater Mercury Comics lines are not available in digital formats.
The online shop has 5 different types of shirts (Value, Golf, Sleeveless, etc.) and sweatshirts/hoodies as well as the obligatory coffee mug. The shirt I received was a good quality item, with a good inked-in logo on the front and back, and not some cheap plastic looking decal or such that will peel off. That was the most important thing I was looking for; nothing worse than throwing a shirt in the dryer and having the logo peel-off in the heat.
My biggest complaint is that the best shirt design only comes in white, and I would really have preferred grey or blue…anything but plain white. There are some shirts available in a few colors, but those only have the more conservative B&W company logo, which is on the back of this shirt too. All that said…the shirt may be white but the quality in the print and the shirt itself are very good.
The only down side to the whole thing? No coupons, so far as I can tell. These all have item numbers beginning with 030, and so far every coupon for CafePress that has come to my inbox has excluded items starting with those numbers. Oh well…still something nice to grab if your a fan.
