Andy Fish is an accomplished and respected artist who lives and works in the northeast United States . He has a number of blogs and has won many awards. He’s big, like Ron Burgandy big. And, judging from the items and art that I have seen for sale, he really seems to enjoy old cinema villains and creatures like Frankenstein and Dracula and such.
He’s also a big fan of the 60’s Batman TV show and it’s star Adam West. He had one of the first web-comics around, a little strip named ‘Adam Bomb‘, which I also have a few pieces from.
His credits include at least 16 Graphic novels and a number of screenplays. He’s big.
Andy sometimes sells stuff on eBay, and sometimes Moby gets lucky enough to be the high bidder on a really cool piece of art. This is one of those times. Below, right there, is the first piece of art for which Andy got paid; his first paid work. The piece was for the Big Discount Supermarkets’ Holiday Magazine in 1994, and I am so glad he was willing to part with it…it’s definitely one of my favorites. So here it is:
If you would like to see more of Andy’s work, I suggest bookmarking his personal blog, Fish Wrap, as there is invariably at least one new post worth reading regarding art and freelancing. Good Stuff. It is also a good way to get exclusive offers and such.
His latest project is a Graphic Novel adaptation of Dracula for McFarland press and you can see a 40(!!)page preview by clicking HERE.
“If you like your vampires delicate and sparkling, you’ve picked up the wrong book.”
Thanks for the preview! Moby’s art from the Adam Bomb comics, including a cover, will likely be posted sometime in the future. For now, let’s go see that free preview, shall we?
