Seven weeks after missing the Christmas Release window for the last, long awaited final act of ‘The Tressaurian Intersection‘, there is finally some good news to report regarding Starship Exeter.
Joshua Johnson, who founded Exeter with his brother Jimm, has announced on Facebook plans to produce an audio version of Exeter, with the original cast reprising their roles!
Via Facebook:
That marks all of the reoccurring cast as being on board to record this Atlantis Invaders Audio Adventure. I hope to have the script ready by the end of March…”
Wow, great news! The Facebook page for the Starship Exeter group has been very active since a 100 day countdown timer was placed on the shows original web page, StarshipExeter.com, along with an email that went out to some (Moby’s included) promising “a huge announcement regarding the release of Act Four.”
There were fingers pointed, questions asked and not answered, innuendo, name-calling and such. It got a little ugly.
But, there was also a string of posts by those who were directly involved with the original productions sharing scripts, set photos, background and behind the scenes info galore. Maurice Molyneaux in particular has shared a ton of pre-production stuff done for what was to be the third Exeter episode, ‘The Atlantian Invaders’. It was nice to see these folks staying above the fray, even if there were still no direct answers coming about the countdown timer.
Still, it would seem that this ‘countdown’ event, and the blowup and such on Facebook, might have a happy ending after all…an Exeter reunion! That’s pretty sweet. And it could be even better! More from Joshua:
There are still many stories worth telling. The Most Dangerous Game, Games and Murder, Tangaro, are three others I’d like to tell. Kail & Kelso’s Home is not a place, and John Hazzard wrote a fun Exeter story I liked as well. If Atlantis is an enjoyable experience, I could foresee a series of Exeter audio adventures.”
So, in short: finger’s crossed. There are positive posts about Act 4 coming, and possibly The Altantis Invaders in audio form. Finger’s crossed…
And yeah, I know there was no Christmas release scheduled.
Or was there? Hmmm….?
Update!: All joking aside, the final act of TTI will be released May 1, 2014.
Hopefully, we will see the final act that has been long overdue.
A delay that can be blamed on [mod removed name] and the former SFX man who walked off the production.
I am just thrilled that act iv is coming at all, after all this time, and also possibly some audio adventures.
Frankly, I am aware that a lot stuff happened, but I am not sure who is to blame for what, who is right and who is wrong. But I don’t want all THAT to start here on my blog.
A lot of people involved with fan Trek are very passionate, and sometimes people involved go too far…but for now I prefer to look forward, there’s stuff ahead worth looking at. The past, not always.
Thanks for visiting Moby’s!
