Why a face book page? Seriously, I don’t know. I guess ’cause people expect there to be a facebook page and it is what you do when you have a blog and want traffic or something. So now there is one, and the peasants rejoice (cue music). And no, I am not on Farmville. Not yet, anyway. So, while I am blogging away about something as stupid as a facebook page for a blog no one visits, I guess it’s a good time for a catch-all post. (cue music)
Moby’s! tries to get a logo from Fiverr
So…..Moby tried to get a logo on Fiverr.com. In case you do not know, Fiverr is an online marketplace where people promise to do amazing things starting at only $5, with markup’s for improve or added services. Everything from logo’s and banners, to crank phone calls, to web stuff….you name it. So Moby wanted to get a logo cheap. Below are the two logos Moby got for $5 on fiverr, along with a quick mock-up I sent to the ‘artist’, so he could get an idea of what I was going for.
Now, Moby has a sense of humor. In fact, I will make a logo for the first person to email me the phrase ‘how now brown cow’ (for $5 of course). The seller’s advert promised “two Wonderful and Professional Logos’ for $5. He failed…putting the name of the site in some font under colored clip-art is not what was being promised. When I cancelled the order and got my five bucks back, the seller’s rating was down to 58%. Still, I am going to use the first logo for the facebook page, but mostly for the irony. Still waiting on a banner for the site to come through.
Moby’s! is still on twitter!
Twitter is stupid, and amazing. It seems to be used like either facebook lite (E.g.: I am getting my colonoscopy RIGHT NOW!) or to promote and share stuff you like or just come across, so it seems like a natural outlet for the site to move into. Facebook? Not so much, but time will tell.
Moby has a whopping five followers right now. I try to keep the tweets to a minimum and in keeping with the purpose of this blog, which is to promote things I like, sharing the love and hoping those things I promote will get a new fan or some recognition.
Basically just paying it forward while learning a bit about how to crash a website.”
Wouldn’t it be ironic if someday Moby discovers he has a fan, some ‘random stranger’, that is doing the same to this site (promoting it, not crashing it). That would be ironic. Can irony cancel itself out? Like ‘double negative’ irony? I am so gonna tweet that RIGHT NOW. (cue music)
